1. Cultivate the habit of listening to yourself. By listening to yourself is meant the ability to:

a. Listen to your conscience.

b. Listen to your heart.

c. Listen to a small still voice.

d. Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, which rings into your head.

e. Listen to the Guardian Angels by your side.

2. Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and listen to the inspirations from Him. You shall be able to recognize the inspirations, because it shall be true and evident. And day by day, it shall become more and more convincing.

3. Recognize and value your dreams, visions, trances, etc. the more you do this the better. Everybody suppose to keep a register where he records messages, and thereby monitor the messages and their fulfillment. You may like to know that the way a particular dream fulfills for one person, may not be the way it fulfills for another person.

4. Discover the meanings of the signs God gives you from time to time. For example:

a. A person normally has a warm sensation on his palm. Every time he has this sensation, soon afterwards, he receives money. Therefore, the sensation is a sign for him to know when money is coming.

b. Another person feels a scratching sensation, just before each time he receives money.

c. A third person has a different sign. Whenever he is doing something or about to start doing something, if he experiences cobwebs covering his face, he knows that that thing shall not be successful.

5. Observe your environment to discover the natural things through which God speaks to you. For example:

a. A prophet usually has a bird that visits him when he counseling people. The bird would give him information or answer question he asks the people coming for counselling.

b. A spiritualist is able to know whenever a ghastly accident has occurred. He said that then a sign would appear on the sky, in the clouds.

c. Most the prophecies of the man who saw tomorrow were based on the arrangements of the stars.

6. Develop a quiet lifestyle. Holy Spirit does not like noise making, boisterous occasions or talkativeness. Everything God does is in silence. The kingdom of heaven is a kingdom that exists in silence. That is why mediation are very important in the life people, for them to grow in spirit and in truth. That is also why God said, “Be still and know that I am God.” Silence is the abode of God; and quietness, the gateway into His presence. In other words, observe quiet times, and God would manifest Himself to you.

7. When you grow in the habit of observing quiet time, you begin to hear what the things around are saying – you begin to understand what God is saying to you through the objects in your environment, just as the king looked at the wall in the book of Daniel and saw a hand writing on the wall.

8. Study the scriptures to learn various prophetic messages and their interpretations. The messages include dreams, visions, trances, signs, wonders, oracle, etc.

9. Study Spiritual Science for you to grow in spirit and in truth. Then, you can easily understand the world from the spiritual dimension. It is indeed disappointing that today, there are so many ministers of God in the world, in their sets according to their various religions, yet, majority of them cannot recognize God’s moves or the direction in which God is moving.

10. For you to receive messages about a person, you have to pray for the person. Ask God for revelations about the person, place, thing or event. The more you do this the better.

11. When you are alone, you can close your eyes in meditation, in quietness or in prayers. Then, you can have trance, by which you receive prophetic messages from God, as Peter did

The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. 10 Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance 11 and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. 13 And a voice came to him, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat."

14 But Peter said, "Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean."

15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed you must not call common." 16 This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again. Acts 10:9-16

12. Read good spiritual books. The more you do so, the more you grow in spirit and in truth, and the more you know about God and life. It is not encouraging that most of the people do not maintain a reading habit, and the few that reads are usually reading only worldly writings like newspapers, novels, etc. these worldly writings are good to some extent, for the worldly benefits you derive from them. The benefits include entertainment, information and education. But, they give you no spiritual benefit. Therefore, it is commendable that everybody should read more of good spiritual books than worldly writings.

13. When people come for counseling, you can have revelations when:

14. You look at them.

15. When you are praying for them.

16. When they speak. Usually, while they are telling you their problems, the Holy Spirit will be telling you about the solutions.

17. Provide time and opportunity for people to tell you their dreams, visions, trances, etc. Through these messages, you shall be able to discover what God wants you to do in their lives. Normally, God speaks to everybody about his personal life, just as He spoke to Joseph, Samuel, David, Daniel, Jeremiah, etc.

18. Individuals who do not receive messages or who easily forget the messages they receive should go for prayers and deliverance. When the evil spirits and demons attack a person, they cover (envelope, overshadow) the person with a cloud of darkness in order to disconnect the person form God. By deliverance the hold of the forces of darkness is removed.

19. It is advisable for the ministers of God to keep a register for recording messages received. By so doing, they shall not easily forget their messages, or they shall be able to refer to the records when necessary. Messages from the throne of God are so important that they should not be forgotten.

20. Do not engage yourself in too much talking. If you do so, the Holy Spirit will start withdrawing away from you. Likewise, do not spend your time telling useless stories and cracking jokes. You gain nothing from them, however entertaining they appear to be.

21. You can cast the Bible on a person. That portion you open to tells you the facts about the person. In practice, people are said to cast the Bible. But in spirit, it is the Bible (the word of God) that opens itself to the relevant page and portion. If you want to know more about the person, read the whole chapter from the beginning to the end.

22. Pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit. When the anointing falls on you, you shall be able to know things without being told, without any person teaching you, for the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth and the spirit of prophecy.

“Not by power nor by might, but by my spirit,” says the Lord.

23. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you in your everyday engagements. This is because people still have so many things to hear, to learn and to do.

12 "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;…” John 16:12-13

24. In order to receive a message about a person, place, thing or event, bear the thing in mind or write it on a paper, and then recite the following psalms over it:

7 Lift up your heads, O you gates!

And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!

And the King of glory shall come in.

8 Who is this King of glory?

The LORD strong and mighty,

The LORD mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O you gates!

Lift up, you everlasting doors!

And the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory?

The LORD of hosts,

He is the King of glory.

Psalms 24:7-10

When you do so, God comes to you to give you revelations,

knowledge, understanding, wisdom, insight and foresight.

25. Another recitation you can use is this:

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

The light was from God and the light was God.

26. Attend prayers and worship in the churches and ministries, where there are men of God who are filled with the Holy Spirit, so that you shall be able to learn a lot from them.

27. In some cases, the appearance of a person shows you what his problem is or reveals what should be done for his own good.

28. While people speak to you, their body language tells you more about their lives and experiences.

29. Do not be afraid to speak, when the spirit moves you to speak. Say exactly what the spirit prompts you to say. It is your duty to prophesy, and that of God to fulfill.
